This place suits me perfectly, with great wi-fi, 24-hour reception, and a lovely bar lounge. I remember the staff helping me with late check-in on my first visit. I’ll be back for Christmas!

Unique historic ambiance, excellent central location, large comfortable rooms
The bathrooms are cramped and poorly designed!!! The excessive noise from nearby nightlife really detracts from comfort!!! Addressing general aging of facilities would go a long way toward improving guest experience!!!

The location is exceptional, right in the heart of the city, making it easy to explore local attractions. the lack of on-site parking was frustrating, and the bathroom in our suite felt outdated despite the room's overall cleanliness. Breakfast was a highlight, particularly the fresh meats, but the tea options could be improved.

We enjoyed our stay here with the kids! The room was spacious and well-equipped, which was perfect for our family of four. We loved being near Chester Zoo and the world-famous racecourse, providing us with plenty of fun activities to enjoy together.
In my wife's opinion, having more kid-friendly dining options would make things more convenient for families.

A great location makes it easy to explore nearby attractions and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere. While the staff demonstrated excellent professionalism, including helpfulness from individuals like Jade and Emilie, the room itself could use some updates, especially as it felt quite shabby compared to the attractive downstairs areas. noise from outside can be an issue, affecting the overall comfort of the stay.

missingWrote a review on Aug 11historic charmspacious roomconvenient locationdated bathroom
The historic charm of the hotel radiates through its unique architecture, making it feel special from the moment you step inside. The spacious Standard King Room provided satisfactory comfort for a night of rest, situated conveniently close to local attractions.
The bathroom in my room left a lot to be desired, with visible black mould in the grout and a stained seal on the shower screen. Parking fees were a hassle. paying £10 one night and £14 the next felt excessive for a facility that lacked dedicated parking. I found myself disturbed by noise from guests above, which disrupted relaxation and sleep. The breakfast offered was disappointing, with a limited selection and poorly cooked options that failed to impress. On the whole, while the historic flair is nice, the imperfections were hard to overlook.

Perfect spot for Chester fun
We stayed for 2 nights in a spacious king room, and the air conditioning was a lifesaver! Staff were super friendly, and we loved the chill seating areas in reception. The only bummer was the tiny lifts – they struggled with our bags. The bar area looked nice, but we didn't get to check it out!

Charming Stay with Room for Improvement
We enjoyed a lovely evening in our Standard Double Room, although it felt dated. The staff were friendly, and the breakfast provided a nice start, despite being a bit disorganized. Tip, check the parking details beforehand, as multi-storey access can be a hassle on weekends.
