    Very good

Location near the old walled city was excellent although street noise was impossible. Included breakfast was superior. Rooms were very clean and updated.

While the staff tried to be helpful they didn't seem up to maintenance problems that occurred. For example, we were locked out of our room for one entire day when the battery in the automatic door lock died. They did adjust our bill and seemed genuinely concerned but, if the key card locks are battery operated, there should have been a maintenance routine to regularly replace them. That hadn't seemed to have occurred to them.

    Very good

The location was fabulous as we visited to go to Chester races. This hotel is right in the middle of the City so this hotel is ideal for city visits and shopping etc.

We had 3 rooms and one of them was not ready at 2pm for us to access which was a disapointment.

Room size - perfect. Coffee/tea facilities in the room, ironing facilities, internet and general comfort made my stay very pleasant.

Parking is a nightmare.I was not prepared for this, and the Grosvenor car park is not that near. Poor preparation on my part. My tom tom could pick up St. John Street, but could not plan the route thus it was unhelpful. No idea why this was the case, and perhaps the hotel should check with satelite navigation data for the area.

    Very good

The location of this hotel is excellent for anyone who wants to go shopping or sightseeing. Given that it is literally around the corner from the Victorian clock tower which represents the heart of Chester and that I got a very good price booking early, I would say that it was value for money. I would most certainly stay there again for a few days.

The welcome to the hotel was very good and all the staff were polite. The only thing I would like to pint out is that one evening a letter was put under my door saying that it was hoped I was enjoying my stay but could I come down to reception as there wasaa problem with my credit card. This naturally allarmed my 76 year-old-mother as I was treating her to the holiday. When I arrived at the desk on the first day I had showed them my confirmation from Booked.net which I showed them again for the second time after receiving their letter under the door. They did apologise but I think they should have already noticed that I had made my bookihng on line and given my credt card details to confirm this. I offered to pay there and then by debit card and with much embarassment they declined my offer. Anyway, the matter was cleared up and my mother was reassured. I thought I would point this out as I have never had this happen before when booking through Booked.net. Having said all that I would recommend this hotel. The only thing that lets it sown isthe shower. I had a room on the second floor and both my mother and I had diffculty having a showeer as there was nor real pèressure and the water just trickled out. We did talk to one of the receptionists about it and she said it is even worse on the third floor. The hotel is aware of this but apparently It would need alot of moey adn work to sort this out. I think I would try and get a room on the first floor next time.

    Superb

The staff were very helpful. We were unhappy about the room because it was at the front of the hotel . The noise from the friday night clubbers went on until 0300 am. They offered us another room without any fuss being made. Abigail on reception was very efficient and kind.

The fact that there was no parking. We had to park in a shopping centre car park and pay £20 for the privilidge. It was difficult to unload and load the car at the beginning and end of our stay. This would put me off staying there in the future.

    Superb

Location and very friendly staff Breakfast service and food was very good Room clean and very comfortable I was surprised to get such a large room it was great it felt like home from home.

The sandwiches ordered from room service at 2am in the morning was not value for money. Asked for tuna but they only had ham which came with white (no choice) bread which was dry and tastless. Room service was also unable to find any lemonade for us, However they did bring up a jug of iced water which made up for it. We waited outside the hotel for 25minutes for someone to let us in even though we had told them that we would not be in until 3.30am thought that let them down a bit as its advertised 24 hour reception.

    Very good

The bar was very impersonable with no atmosphere. The website described the hotel as "free parking" which is totally incorrect. We had to park in the multi-storey which cost £10 per day. This should be corrected on your website as a matter of urgency.
